Today while I was getting a massage, Sunny and Ella went on a little adventure. Sunny took Ella to a dance store and bought Ella tap shoes. From how Sunny described the scene, it seemed magical…there were people there trying on ballet shoes, going up on their toes, and Ella was just staring with her mouth wide open. Sunny also said that some of the people who worked there were totally charmed by Ella. I came home to find Ella in her red dress running around in her new tap shoes. Ella is exploring what the shoes can do and did a really cute singing and tap song. Here it is…

Tap shoes
Monday, March 30th, 2009Smiling and jumping
Sunday, March 29th, 2009Today was a sweet day. Ella had a fever but it was a beautiful day out and she wasn’t feeling sick so we took her to lunch at the Java House and then played at the little park behind AT&T Park. Sunny and I went to a CDS fundraiser tonight. Here’s a funny thing that Ella said to me the other day… Ella has this new thing that she does. If she bumps herself or if something hurts, she says that she needs a band-aid and she keeps it on for a little while and then takes it off and says that she’s all better. Anyway, Ella was in our bedroom and bumped her leg and she said, “I need a band-aid.” She walked into our bathroom, opened the cabinet, got a band-aid, opened it up and put it on. She was collecting the garbage and I said, “Give it to me, I’ll throw it out.” Ella looked up at me, picked up the garbage, went over to the garbage can and said, “Don’t worry about me – worry about yourself.” Nice! Here are a few pictures from today at the park. Ella added this red ribbon to her dress. Walking the wall. And now, for the big jump!
I hope today is filled with love.
Friday, March 27th, 2009I miss you guys – hope today is peaceful and easy. Can’t wait to see you next week. We had dinner with Abigail and Ray tonight. It was sweet here are a few pictures. When we came home, Ella was running and running around the island and she finally stopped and went straight for the potty. Then she started singing “Do A Deer” at the top of her lungs. Hopefully it will make you laugh. I love you all.

A candle for Grandma Miller
Thursday, March 26th, 2009My grandmother died early Thursday morning. She had been suffering from Alzheimers for about 9 years. I hope that she is at peace and in a better place. She was an incredible woman – she had a lot of life and fight and love in her. She was a survivor and lived life to the fullest. I am so happy that she was in my life and that she was my grandmother. Tonight, Sunny asked me if I wanted to light a candle for grandma Miller. Ella overheard Sunny and said, “Yes – let’s light a candle for grandma Miller”. Ella picked out a candle asked Sunny for the fire (a match) and lit the candle. We all just stood around with our eyes closed and put our beautiful thoughts out to the universe. Here is Ella with the candle for Grandma Miller. We love you – thank you for loving us!
A cute video of Ella dustbusting and making up a story
Wednesday, March 25th, 2009Here is a video of Ella in action tonight. First, she dustbusted the kitchen and then she was making up a skit (as Cinderella) about turning a pillow into a carriage. Very cute.
Ella loves her crown
Monday, March 23rd, 2009It makes me a little crazy when Ella walks around the house with her crown on. I don’t really care about the crown, she just gets so goofy when her crown starts to fall off or gets displaced on her head. I guess it’s hard to explain, but anyway, here are 2 cute pictures from today with Ella and her sundress and crown.
Ella is getting writing her name so well these days. Now we need to go onto other words.
Saturday at the Academy of Science and the Japanese Tea Garden
Sunday, March 22nd, 2009Today was a really fun day. We took Ella to the Academy of Science just to have some fun outside of the neighborhood. She ran all over the place looking at things for about 10 seconds and moving onto the next thing. It’s so great to watch Ella as she absorbs so many different things. At the end of our visit, we went into the gift shop and she picked out a pair of binoculars. She loves them and was so into looking at everything through her binoculars. We stopped at the Japanese Tea Garden for some tea before we came home. Tonight we had dinner at Phyllis and Michael’s and had a really sweet night.

Ella and the great outdoors
Saturday, March 21st, 2009Here are some sweet pictures of Ella playing around. Some are from school and some are from this afternoon when we went to a park with Debby, Toby and Rachel.

This is a picture from last night. We had dinner over at Stella and Juliet’s. Here are the girls enjoying gnocchi, broccoli and some peppers. The soup in the mug is mine – I was on liquids yesterday after my dental implant.
Ella just loves life, and life loves Ella
Thursday, March 19th, 2009Ella actually had a little bit of a rough day today. She pooped at school and didn’t wipe very well and had some poop in her underwear and she was uncomfortable. Alicia asked her what was going on, and Ella said, “Is it ok if I had a little accident?” Alicia said of course it is. Then Ella said that she thought we were going to be mad at her. That is so sad. They changed her clothes and there were no underwear left in her cubby. Alicia put Ella’s leggings on without underwear. Ella thought this was risky behavior. Ella skipped lunch today and told Alicia that she wanted to go straight to sleep. So sad. When I picked her up today, she said, “Mama, are you mad?” I told her that I wasn’t mad at all and that accidents happen to all of us and that we both loved her so much and she is a great kid. I asked Ella why she didn’t eat and she said that she was too sad. I asked her how she was feeling in the car and she said, “Not sad anymore”. Even though Ella has her stressful moments, she is just such a lover of life.
Going to school.
Here is Ella hiding, running and strutting on the way to dinner.
What’s a night without a good cup of green tea?
Fun after school
Wednesday, March 18th, 2009Most days after school, Ella and her buddy Brickelle play around on the playground and have a fun time fooling around while walking to our cars. Here are some really cute pictures from today after school.
Ella is a very serious swinger.

Tonight, Sunny and Ella were playing before bedtime and Ella spilled a little sand from a Zen Garden that they were playing with. Sunny got the dustbuster and Ella immediately became addicted to using it. Here she is in our bathroom dust busting the hair from the floor. This could come in handy!
