Ella from Friday

Sunday, December 16th, 2007

Ella and I had a great day on Friday and then Sunny, Ella and I had fun on Friday night at the gym. I took Ella to Patagonia to get a new jacket and she loved walking around town. She stopped and sat on a stoop and she loved walking on the yellow bumps on the corners of the sidewalk. Right before we left for the pool, Ella broke into “Hey Lolly Lolly” non-stop and she was dancing around and being so kooky. We captured it on film and you can enjoy it at the end of this blog.

Robe from grandma and papa

Friday, December 14th, 2007

Today, Ella received a surprise in the mail from grandma and papa…a robe for after the bath or just lounging around the house.  Here are two pictures of Ella in her new robe.  The first one is her response to me asking her to show me her teeth and the second one is just pretty sweet.

Hi – here I am showing you my teeth – aren’t they beautiful?

Today (December 12) is Papa Steve’s birthday.  We love you papa.  Here is a video message from Ella.

No pudge brownies

Tuesday, December 11th, 2007

Sunny made “No Pudge Brownies” tonight.  Ella had a real treat!  (Don’t worry…the only thing you add to the mix is vanilla yogurt – no raw eggs or anything funny like that.

Another Chanukah party!

Monday, December 10th, 2007

Today, Ella spent a lot of time together in the morning and afternoon. Sunny went to the gym and then ran some errands and then finally got a massage. It was a chanukah gift from me and Ella. I think she had a great time. Ella and I went to South Park and went on the swings, then we crunched leaves and looked for birds. We had lunch at the Java House – some grilled cheese and french fries and then we came home and Ella took a nap. Sunny came home and I took off for a little while. At around 5:30, we left to go to Phyllis and Michael’s Chanukah party. It was lots of fun…lots of kids…lots of sweet people. Here are some pictures from the night and a video at the end of Ella getting even better at the drums.

Have a beautiful Monday.

Chanukah Party

Sunday, December 9th, 2007

We started today off by taking Ella to a trial dance class at My Gym. The class was at 9:30am and Ella was still sleeping at 8:45. I woke her up, tried to get her to eat a little breakfast and took her on the train to the class with Helen and Stella. I think I got her up too late because she just didn’t want to stay in the class. She was not herself at all. She was fine after the class was over. We had brunch with Debby, Toby and Rachel which was sweet. After lunch, we tried to get Ella to take a nap. She was so tired but she was just fooling around in her crib. She called out to Sunny to change her diaper and as Sunny was changing her diaper Ella pointed her finger at Sunny and said, “Hey mommy – I have an important question to ask you”…Sunny was laughing so hard but said, “What do you want to ask me?” Ella said, “Does mommy want to play with Legos with Ella?” I heard Sunny laughing all the way from downstairs. Tonight we went to Kate and Julie’s Chanukah party. It was a lot of fun. There were a lot of kids there and Ella had a good time. We came home and Helen and Ron were putting the lights on their Christmas tree. Ella walked into their place, touched the tree and said, “Oh my God”. I think she really loved the tree.

The Velveteen Rabbit

Saturday, December 8th, 2007

Today we took the girls to see the Velveteen Rabbit. It was at the Yerba Buena theater. We made it all the way up to the break. Stella was terrific – completely still, mesmerized – I think she really enjoyed the show. Ella and Juliet were great but they didn’t quite get the fact that you’re supposed to be quiet during a performance. They were really sweet, squealing, talking, and eating Pirates Booty. At one point Ella was yelling “End ballet, end ballet” at the top of her lungs. It was pretty funny. After the show, we ate at the Bistro in Nordstrom. The girls were really terrific there too. They finished off their lunch with mini ice cream sundaes. Helen brought over a dress for Ella to wear since Stella and Juliet were looking beautiful and fancy. Ella loved wearing the dress. She pretty much loves everything.

Singin’ in the rain and Yo Gabba Gabba

Friday, December 7th, 2007

It was raining today which made Ella very happy. She’s been waiting to use her Elmo umbrella in the actual rain and today she got her chance. After My Gym, we took the dogs out and Ella wore her raincoat and umbrella. She needs to get used to using her umbrella the right way – she likes it to touch her head, but she’s learning. Tonight after dinner, the girls got to open presents from Julie – Helen’s sister. Julie sent the girls presents from New York – each one got a Yo Gabba Gabba doll. THANK YOU EMO! The girls loved their presents. Here are some pictures from the day.

Girls in blue

Thursday, December 6th, 2007

Here are some pictures of the girls in the warm up suits that Helen and Ron gave them last night for Chanukah. They looked so cute! Tonight, we all went to see an ice skating extravaganza across the street at the ballpark and Barry Manilow was there, live, singing lots of songs from his new album. The girls were phenomenal during the show. They just sat on our laps, staring at the lights and the skaters. They clapped between skaters and just loved the show. It was a great night.

The Little Drummer Girl and Happy Chanukah

Wednesday, December 5th, 2007

It’s pretty late here so I’ll make this a short entry. Tonight is the first night of Chanukah and we gave Ella her BIG present first…a shiny red drum set! She loved it. She started drumming like a pro right away.

We spent the first night of Chanukah with our beautiful friends Helen, Ron, Stella and Juliet. First we had some latkes, then we lit the candles and then we ate a delicious Chanukah dinner that Helen cooked. After dinner, we gave the kids some of their presents. The big theme was ballet. Helen’s parents gave Ella a ballet outfit and we gave Stella a light up tutu. We gave Juliet that same adorable hat that Ella has so Ron and Helen made sure that she had her regular ballet outfit so she didn’t feel left out. Helen and Ron gave the girls matching warm up suits. I’m sure there will be some incredible pictures of the girls in their outfits very soon. The first video is of Ella drumming and the second video is some priceless Chanukah footage.
