Technical problem last night

Wednesday, March 12th, 2008

Whew – I went to sleep not being able to get onto this site and I was afraid that everything was erased. It’s all better so I’m not going to worry. I just wanted to post a few cute pictures of Ella from yesterday when I came home from work and a short movie showing Ella’s love of yelling these days. She loves to go to the elevator and yell. The only problem with that is that the only jerk on our entire floor lives directly in front of the elevator. He’s been known to come out and say rude things. The beautiful thing about it is that Ella doesn’t care.

Yes – this is a fake smile, but it’s so cute.

How about a little baseball

Monday, March 10th, 2008

It was a gorgeous day today. This afternoon, we went to the park with a T-ball thing and began to teach Ella how to swing the bat. She was really funny – she loved her bat, loved running around with it, and didn’t want to give us a turn to use it. She hit really well with our help. The bat was a little big so we are going to get her something a little smaller. It was a lot of fun. After T-ball, we went home and got the dogs and took them to another park by the house. Ella insisted on walking the whole time – including going over the 4th Street bridge. Ella ran around the park and climbed to the top of “tall mountain” a very large grassy hill in the beginning of the park. She met a lot of other dogs and had so much fun. In the evening, we took advantage of gaining an hour of sunlight and went to dinner in the Ferry Building with Becca. Ella had such a great time with Becca that she ordered Sunny and I to “go away” when we were leaving the restaurant. She really wanted her alone time with Becca. We thought it was terrific.

Ella at a golf themed birthday party

Sunday, March 9th, 2008

Today, we took Ella to her friend Hariel’s birthday party. Hariel loves golf (he’s 2) so his parents threw him a party and the kids got a little golf club, tee and ball for a party favor. Hariel is actually an amazing little golfer. His dad told us that all Hariel watches on TV is golf. Check him out…

On the way home from the party, we bumped into Stella, Juliet, Helen and Ron. Ron just came back from NY. He brought all the girls back a Yankee shirt. This is the best picture I could get of all of them.

Ella never took a nap today. She just fooled around in her crib for about an hour. She was a little cranky in the afternoon. At around 5:00, she told us that she wanted to watch Ratatouille. I asked Sunny to bring me up some popcorn for the movie. Sunny brought up 2 little boxes of popcorn, one for me and one for herself. Ella looked at me and said, “I want popcorn, I love popcorn”. I put my box out for her to take some and she took the box. She sat down in her seat and wouldn’t let me have my box back.

Lunch behind the ballpark

Saturday, March 8th, 2008

Ella is still recovering from her cold, but we had a lot of fun today at lunch and at the park. Ella told me that she wanted to eat grilled cheese and french fries at Maria’s (she’s the daughter of the guy who owns the Java House). We went over there and had a great lunch. During lunch, Ella treated me to some amazing monologues. On the video below, first she is talking about her food and the pigeons and then she went into this Yo Gabba Gabba mantra type thing. She started out singing a song about dreams and then went into this other thing that the robot guy does. It doesn’t make too much sense if you don’t know the show, but it’s pretty entertaining anyway. After lunch, we went to the park and Ella played really well with the other kids. There were these two boys playing with cars, rolling them along the wall. Ella found a car and started doing the same thing. She kept up with them and laughed hysterically when one of the boys crashed his car into hers. It’s great to see the playing turning into actually playing together. Tonight we had dinner with Stella, Juliet and Helen (Ron is out of town) and then the girls came over to watch a movie. We started to watch The Wizard of Oz, but Stella said that she didn’t want to see it. Instead, we watched Cinderella and it was a huge hit. It was a great day and night.

Thursday at Yerba Buena

Friday, March 7th, 2008

Ella has a cold (again) so we decided not to send her to My Gym. It was a pretty nice day so we went to Yerba Buena, went on the carousel, did a little shopping at the store and walked around the garden. The playground was closed, so we did a lot of walking. Ella likes to go on the dragon chairs these days on the carousel. She told me that the dragon licks the horses with his big tongue. Here are a few pictures from yesterday.

Golden Gate Park Playground

Tuesday, March 4th, 2008

Today, Sunny, Ella, Stella and Juliet headed off for an adventure to the Discovery Museum. When they got there, they found out that it was closed. Being the beautiful road dogs that they are, they went back over the bridge and headed to Golden Gate Park. Sunny and Ella told me that they had a blast there. Ella went down a big slide all by herself and the girls played for a long time. Ella skipped her nap again – something she’s been doing every once in a while. Ella also did some “painting” in the Zen Garden. The painting was with a brush and water. She told Sunny that she was painting like Mootise (one of her books). The girls came over for dinner and then we all headed over to the Burger Joint which opened across the street from us today! The girls all had chocolate milkshakes.chillin.jpgElla chillin’ and eating her raisinsnoshoes.jpgLook mommy – I have no shoes on!beach.jpgStella pretending she’s at the beachdrink.jpgJuliet having a cool drink on a hot day at the parkhappyslide.jpgLook at this happy girl going down the big slidebiggirl.jpgDoesn’t Ella look like such a big girlcrib.jpgI know it’s not nice to take a picture when someone is sleeping (especially the flash), but when I went in to check on Ella, I found her with her friends Remy and Tyrone. Sunday with Chloe

Monday, March 3rd, 2008

Today, we drove out to Richmond to visit Elaine, Chole and baby Oskar. Andy (Heather’s brother) was unfortunately at work, so we didn’t get to see him. The last time Ella and Chloe spent time together was in July, so we really had no idea how they would be together. Chloe is 6 months older than Ella. Well…as you will soon see, they hit it off famously. They played really well together, shared with each other and Chloe was extremely compassionate when Ella fell down, hit her mouth and got a fat lip. Baby Oskar is adorable and Elaine was great. It was a really fun morning. When we came home, Ella wasn’t really in the mood for a nap. Sunny and I took Towby and Ella to a park for some fresh air. Bug pulled a muscle or something in her leg, so we didn’t want to drag her out of the house for a long walk. After the walk and a little resting, we walked around our neighborhood (it was a gorgeous night) with Stella, Juliet and Helen. We had dinner outside at a restaurant right by the house. The girls had a blast.

We were all getting ready to leave for dinner and we let Ella and Juliet play in the hallway while we were getting Stella. Helen took a peek down the hall to make sure that Ella and Juliet weren’t going to make a run for it, and this is what she found – they were walking down the hall holding hands. They are so cute!

Best Friends

Sunday, March 2nd, 2008

This morning, we met Stella, Juliet, Helen and Ron over by the spider. Ella loves the spider and runs to it, but she loves her friends more because she was screaming “Stella…Juliet” all the way there. The kids played around the spider and then on these swivel chairs that are on a pier right by the spider. I left to play tennis, and Sunny and Ella hung around. They went to the ferry building and had lunch with Phyllis. Tonight, Ella, Sunny and I went to Acme for dinner. Ella had some great mac and cheese and was really happy to be there and see everyone. She also has something new that she loves to do at Acme. She loves to hang on the railing like it’s a gymnastics bar. Today was a great day.

What a great day

Friday, February 29th, 2008

Today was a great day. The weather was beautiful and we were very busy. Ella and I started out this morning by going to My Gym. Ella brought ballerina Zoe with her to class and she took her on the swings.
zoeonswing.jpg

After My Gym, we were waiting for Corey to come by so we could give him something. While we were waiting for Corey, we bumped into Heidi and her dog Ethel. Ella was happy to see Heidi and Corey, but much happier to see Ethel.

After hanging out for a little bit, we went to go see Aunt Abigail and Uncle Ray’s new house on Chestnut Street. It is a great house and in an amazing neighborhood. We were really happy to see them and have a little visit.

Abigail, Ella and I took a walk down to Chrissy Field after lunch. Ella was in the stroller but then got excited and wanted to walk around. She had a blast.

Ella took little 10 minute naps here and there, and when we came home, she said that she didn’t want to take a nap. We saw Mommy for a few minutes before she had to leave to go to a Board meeting. Ella and I went to Walgreens, Starbucks and Borders. After our little neighborhood adventure, we came home and had dinner with Stella, Juliet, Helen and Ron. The girls had a lot of fun together. They danced, sang into the microphone, played with toys, told jokes and just had a great time. Ella fell asleep at 9:30. I may even be sleeping before midnight!

Last yoga class

Tuesday, February 26th, 2008

Today is the last yoga class for a little while. Ella did a pretty good job – she likes to do what she wants to do, not exactly what the class is doing. We’re hoping she will grow out of this. Here are a few pictures that Sunny took today.tashanduniqua.jpgDoing yoga with Tasha and Uniquahandstamps.jpgStella watching on as Ella gets hand stamps from Miss Megan
