Put em up

Monday, April 7th, 2008

The title of this post has to do with the video at the end. Ella took home a lion mask from the birthday party yesterday and when she puts it on, she turns into the cowardly lion from the Wizard of Oz. It’s such a trip and she’s so cute. Her favorite thing to say is “scared are ya?” Tonight, Stella and Juliet came over and Helen and Ron went out with friends for a normal dinner (FINALLY!) They have done this for us before and we were so happy that we could do it. We had a blast with the girls. We had some dinner, danced to “Baby Got Back”, ran around the hallway and finally settled in to watch the Bee Movie. Sunny made a great big bowl of popcorn and we all had a great time.

Birthday parties galore!

Sunday, April 6th, 2008

Today, we started the day going to a birthday party for Bruno and Natasha (AKA Mei and Kai). It was a sweet get together with delicious dim sum. Stella and Juliet were also at the party so all of the kids played really well together.

After the morning party, Ella came home and took a nap. Then we got ready to go to another party in the late afternoon. This one was for Kate – a sweet child who we know from music class. The party was an animal themed jungle themed party. The kids were really cute and we had a fun time.

Today, Julie (Helen’s sister) and I took the kids to Coyote Point Museum and park. The girls had a great time. They saw lots of little animals including a badger, raccoon, porcupine, birds and an otter, and they also saw some reptiles like snakes, lizards, frogs. Then they went into the museum and saw some experiments and some natural history. After that, we had a picnic and went to an amazing playground. Ella played hard and actually took a 2 hour nap in the afternoon. This evening, we went to My Gym for a birthday party where Ella had a blast.ellajuliet.jpgElla and Juliet checking out the otter from the secret underground cavehidragon.jpgElla and Stella venturing into the world of the dragonmouth.jpgHey dragon, don’t bite down!fakesmile.jpgElla on a big girl swing sporting her fake smilecutejuliet.jpgWhat a cutie!strut.jpgElla strutting her stuffslide.jpgGoing down the slide with confidenceredballoon.jpgNow we’re at the birthday party. Yerba Buena Waterfall

Friday, April 4th, 2008

Ella and I had a great day. We started out at My Gym where she continued to practice her hanging from the bars.

Ella’s legs are really in the air and parallel to the mat.

We came home and had some lunch and then we ventured out into the city. We have a lot of birthday parties to go to this weekend and we had to go get some presents. We ended up at the SFMOMA gift shop because they have cool stuff there. After the museum, we went to the Yerba Buena gardens across the street and Ella loved watching the waterfall at the Martin Luther King Jr. monument.

Ella looks so cute and sweet here doesn’t she…well…about 2 minutes later, she was sneaking and trying to put her hand in the water.

After the gardens, we went over to the Metreon and Ella was playing around on this cool video thing on the ground. The video is at the end of this entry. The last thing that I took a picture of was Ella on the carousel imitating a fire breathing dragon.

Super Spy Grandma and Papa

Thursday, April 3rd, 2008

Tonight after work, Ella and I were doing a video chat with grandma and papa. They are all so in love with each other and it’s beautiful to watch. At one point, grandma and papa were talking to Ella about the secret agent/super spy Ella pictures from yesterday. All of a sudden grandma disappeared and came back wearing her shades. A few seconds later, papa was rifling around his room and came up with cataract shades. Ella put on her shades and they were all super spies. Sunny came home from work in the middle of all of this and came in the room to see all of the super spies and just cracked up! She couldn’t stop laughing and then Ella couldn’t stop laughing and then grandma and papa were laughing and I captured a picture of it all! The sad thing is, I’ve been trying to upload the picture that I took from the computer and this site won’t let me post a TIFF file and I just can’t get it to be a JPG file right now so you’ll have to use your imagination. If I can convert it, I will post it!

After Ella’s bath tonight, she told us that she wanted to run around in the hallway and that’s just what she did.

Here are a few pictures that I took of Ella today when we came home from work and there are also 2 more pictures from yesterday at the ballgame that Ron took.

What a day!

Tuesday, April 1st, 2008

Ella started her day bright and early at her yoga class with mommy. Sunny said that Ella did a great job.

After yoga, we hung around the house for a little bit and then we got ready to go to the ballpark to watch the season opener on the jumbotron. The Giants played their first game of the season in LA. My camera battery was dying so I didn’t take it to the ballpark but I was able to capture these beautiful shots of Ella wearing her new Lou Seal hat.

Ella did not take a nap today. Helen, Ron, Stella and Juliet came over for dinner and we all had a great time. The girls have had this obsession with tattoos lately. Ella loves having them on her belly. Stella and Juliet love belly tattoos too. Here are Ella’s latest and greatest tattoos.

OK – so she has a runny nose, her pants are falling down, she has tattoos all over her body, and she looks dazed and confused… but she’s just so beautiful on the inside and out!

Sunday – Giant’s last exhibition game

Monday, March 31st, 2008

Well…starting today, it all counts. It was a good thing that it didn’t count yesterday because the Giants did not win. Helen got luxury suite tickets from her work and took us all to the game yesterday. It was a lot of fun even thought the Giants lost. After the game, the girls ran the bases. A mean usher told Sunny that she couldn’t take any pictures of Ella running the bases, but Sunny did anyway. That’s why the video at the end of the blog is of Ella’s back. Sunny had to sneak! Today is the first game of the season and I hope we get off to a good start.

Ballerina Ella

Sunday, March 30th, 2008

Today we just hung around the house. Ella’s has a pretty bad cold so we didn’t really take her out anywhere. Kate came over for dinner and she was treated to ballerina Ella. Ella danced with a tutu and no shirt. She has added a few new hand movements to her repertoire. She’s super cute.

Another attempt at potty training

Saturday, March 29th, 2008

The good news is, we have until September 2 to have Ella totally potty trained. I think this may be a long road. Ella still has a cold so we took it easy today. I took her to the SFMOMA and we walked around and looked at all the beautiful paintings and stuff with the beautiful colors. After the museum, we met mommy over at the carousel. We all had a sweet time. When we came home, we decided that we would put Ella in underwear. We told her that if she had to pee or poop that she just had to tell one of us and we would help her make it to the potty. Today Ella peed twice in her 2 different pair of underwear. Right when she was doing it, she told us that she peed, so that’s progress. We told her that it was just an accident that that it happened to everyone. She didn’t see too upset. Ella was very tired tonight – probably due to her cold and cough. She went to sleep at 8:30. That’s a recent record for Ella.patonhead.jpgHere’s Ella patting me on the head at the carouselhi.jpgWell hi there! Mommy and Ella enjoying a carousel ride
