Helen took the day off of work today and we took the girls to the Bay Area Discovery Museum across the Golden Gate Bridge. It was a beautiful day and the girls had a blast. We highly recommend this place. There is plenty of creative and fun stuff to do. Here is a little video of the girls from today.

Friday, November 2nd, 2007First, I need to write about a milestone. Ella will be 2 in 10 days. Sunny and I decided to finally eliminate her before bed bottle. We switched over to giving her water about a month ago so now we just had to switch to a sippy cup. Tonight when I was putting Ella to bed, she asked for a “ba ba” (bottle). I told her that we were going to switch to a big girl cup. She was very upset and screamed “ba ba – you want a ba ba” for about a minute or two. I explained to her that big girls like Stella and Izze take sips of water at night from a big girl cup. She lied there for a few minutes regaining her composure and all of a sudden looked at me and said, “You want a big girl cup, I want a big girl cup like Stella” and that was it. We’ll see what happens tomorrow night, but she took a few sips of water tonight and I think we’re on our way.
I took the next video this afternoon. After My Gym, Ella had lunch and then we went for a walk. She fell asleep in her stroller, so I went downtown. I went into a toy store and bought a very cool bubble machine – Uncle Michael may want this one. After Ella woke up and we went to the carousel and everything, we came home and heard a sweet knock on the door. It was Stella and Juliet. I put Ella out in the hallway with them and told them that I was going to come out with a surprise. Here it is…

This is a picture of Ella and her two friends Ava and Isabelle. They have a ritual of Ella sharing her Pirate’s Booty after the My Gym class. It all started a few months ago when we introduced Pirate’s Booty to Isabelle. She now sees Ella and gives her a big hug and says hi to her and then she goes to me, takes my hand and says, “Booty”. Isabelle’s mom told me that she refers to me as the “Booty Lady”. It’s so great to see a change from when Ella first started My Gym over a year ago until now. She really enjoys seeing some of the kids week after week and these two are her favorites. Here is a video that I made at My Gym today. Ella is getting so confident on the steps and the slide. Halloween is finally here!
Thursday, November 1st, 2007Ella started out her day as a normal day. At around 2:45 everything changed. Right before music class, Ella turned into an elephant.
Last year in music class, Ella was a bee. She wasn’t walking yet and she hardly had any hair. I took a picture last year where Ella was a bee and she was sittng next to her friend Tyler who was dressed up as Winnie the Pooh. Here is the picture from last year…

During music class, Ella kept her costume on for quite a while but then she looked so hot and sweaty that we took her head part off and un-velcroed her top. Here she is playing the castanets and just looking beautiful.
After music, we went to the ice cream store and got some ice cream for Ella. Then we sat in the lobby and hung out with some neighbors.
Soon after that, we hooked up with Stella, Juliet, Helen and Ron. We all headed over to a party over at a building not too far away from us. Stella was supposed to be an elephant along with Ella and Juliet, but she got this really cool Tinky Winky costume and she loves it so much that she ditched the elephant.

After the party, we all went to Acme for some dinner.
Ella getting sleepy…but soon after this picture was taken, we all went trick or treating in our building. The kids had a blast. We had a blast too but it was a super-tiring day.
