I am finally posting this video. I just need to say that the music was chosen by Ella. I showed her the video without music and then she said that she wanted the “Hello Song” in the beginning and the “Goodbye Song” at the end. Ella had a vision and we made it come to life!
Video of Ella’s third birthday
January 16th, 2009I feel like we’ve been so busy.
January 15th, 2009Here are some pictures from the past few days. It seems like every moment of our time is crammed into a few hours. This week we have been trying to organize the downstairs. We were going a little crazy with Ella’s stuff everywhere. Last night I built these two shelves while Ella was sleeping. Tonight I built a toy chest. Ella was awake when I started my project so she wanted to help me…boy did she help. She helped me with the wooden pegs, the screws and the washers. She was so into it. It was a lot of fun to do such a big project with Ella.
Ella in the hallway the other morning. I wonder what’s so funny.
One smiley girl going to school this morning.
Hannah, one of the kids in the building came down with her mom and brother to share a cake that they baked. Ella loves playing with Hannah.

Bay Area Discovery Museum
January 12th, 2009We took advantage of a beautiful day today and met Elaine, Chloe and Oskar at the Bay Area Discovery Museum. The girls were a little shy at first, but after about 5 minutes, they were running around and having a great time. Oskar is a just a sweet boy and as soon as he starts to walk on his own, his parents are in big trouble. Here are some pictures of the day – a movie will follow in a few days. Make sure you look at the end of this entry – there is a video of Ella recommending Sunny’s book.

Staff Pick
January 11th, 2009We went to Borders yesterday and one of the staff chose Sunny’s book for her staff pick. The book is now prominently displayed towards the center of the store.
Pretty cool!

The book is on the shelves!
January 7th, 2009Tonight, we walked across the street to Borders and we found Mommy’s book.It was right there in the sociology department. We are so proud of Sunny/mommy. This has been a long journey – welcome to the beginning of the end.
Well, first I have to put this picture of Ella here. Ella was on her way to school.

Sending grandma and papa off and going to school
January 6th, 2009Ella made a really smooth transition this morning from being on a vacation for 2 weeks to going back to school. She was actually excited and when she got there, everything was normal. How beautiful. The kids I work with were crazy today. Here are a few more pictures from the end of the weekend.

Last little love fest on Saturday morning.
We went swimming on Saturday. Here is Ella helping mommy blow dry her hair.

The many faces of Ella
January 4th, 2009Ella is growing up so fast. Tonight we were having dinner at a friend’s house and she said, “I eat double chocolate ice cream with gummy bears at a store in our neighborhood. It’s just a little bit away from our house.” Later on when we came home she was looking for me and said, “I didn’t realize you were letting the dogs out. I peeked into your room and didn’t see you”. Pretty sophisticated language. Wow. Here are some pictures from the last few days. Grandma and papa left this morning. It was a great visit. We love you guys.

Happy New Year!
January 1st, 2009Happy New Year everyone. I think this year is going to be great. Yesterday, we spent some time at the aquarium at Pier 39 and then had a great dinner at Acme Chop House. Ella wore her beautiful red dress and red “Kiki” bow. We had a wonderful night.

We found this peacock at a restaruant that we had lunch at. Ella loves peacocks. Almost everything that she creates at school is a peacock.

Hitting the museums
December 31st, 2008We have been enjoying a little time off…(Ella and I have time off – mommy is still working). Grandma and papa went to LA on Monday so I decided to take Ella to the Japanese tea gardens in Golden Gate Park. It was so incredibly crowded there because of the new Academy of Science that we didn’t even drive into the park. Instead, we went to the SFMOMA where we enjoyed walking around and checking out some of the beautiful art. Ella loved the huge paintings that had a lot of red in them. Today, we tried to go to the Academy early with grandma and papa and it was still so crowded. The member line was all the way down the block. We decided to ditch the Academy and go to the De Young museum. We also took the train there so that we wouldn’t have to deal with the traffic. Ella love the train – she loves sitting by herself. The adults have also been having a blast playing with the Wii that Sunny got me for Chanukah.
Having fun with grandma.
