We had a wonderful family trip to Hawaii…12 days in paradise. It was completely relaxing and beautiful and we had a lot of fun. I have a lot of pics to post so I will do a little narration as I go along.
First shot of Ella in the pool.

The first beach that we went to was the beach at the St. Regis hotel. It is a sweet little beach with pretty good snorkeling. See for yourself…

Here are some of the shots that we took with our new under water camera. Sometimes it’s hard to tell what your are getting pictures of, but we did a pretty good job.
A little chess after snorkeling.
One of the many trips to the shave ice places.

There was an arts festival in Kilauea on Saturday night. Sunny and Ella both got henna tattoos.

These were taken at Lydgate Beach. We are in one of the manmade enclosed ponds. The rocks keep the big waves from coming in. There is decent snorkeling and great safe swimming.

These shots were taken at Anini beach. We didn’t go in the water too much at this beach. It was a great day to fly a kite and walk around the beach looking for crabs and shells though.
Another shave ice.

Ella still had fun in the kiddie pool at our hotel.

I’m not sure which beach this is, but it was a new one for us and we had a lot of fun here.

This was by far the best shave ice we have ever had. The line was an hour long and it was worth the wait. I had mango, Ella had hibiscus and Sunny had green tea.
This is Ella at Ke’e beach. This beach is great for snorkeling. I went out to snorkel while Ella and mommy were setting up the tent. The first thing that I was was this…

My luck! I saw this eel. I wanted to throw up but I decided to be brave and take a picture. I am happy that I did. Here are some other great shots from our day at Ke’e beach.

This is a beautiful spot in paradise.

Nothing says vacation more than playing mimi golf in a botanical garden!
Believe it or not, this was the only rainbow that we was the entire time that we were away! We usually see at least three. It was a lot less rainy than it usually is.
This goose would come visit us on our deck from time to time.

On August 2, there was a sand sculpture contest at Hanalei Bay. It was so cool to watch the people build their creations.
This is a shot that I took from a much more quiet part of the beach.
Beautiful Ella on the bay.

On Saturday night, we had dinner at the Tavern which is a restaurant in the Princeville clubhouse. We had a great dinner and the views were wonderful, especially at sunset. Ella took most of the pics here.
For our last day, we wanted to go to Tunnels but when we got there, there was a paddle board race and a sleeping seal on the beach. We weren’t allowed to go in the water near the seal. It was really cute but we decided to go back to Ke’s.
Sweet seal!

A perfect way to end our trip – a beautiful day at Ke’e beach!
Cousins reunited. Milo introduced Ella to the Octonauts this summer.

Ella read Milo a bedtime story almost every night. She loved doing this.
This is one of Ella and Milo’s favorite things to do – ride in the golf cart with papa!

After the first week, we decided that it would be fun to buy and underwater camera. We sure had a lot of fun with it.

Beautiful AJ.

Ella and her friend Emma.

Fireflies!

Grandma and Milo playing Connect 4.

These were taken at the Museum of Natural History. We met Jordin, Twyla and Claudius there. The kids went crazy for the dinosaurs and had a great time with each other. Grandma, Ella, Milo and I saw a really cool 3-D movie on great white sharks.
Here are Ella and Stella after Stella’s AMAZING performance in Hairspray.

Luckiest grandchildren in the world!

Time to go back to SF! Thank you for an amazing 3 weeks. Love you guys.
My view of Panda on the airplane. He’s a great little traveler.
Ella reading at breakfast – what a beautiful sight.
Ella learned a lot about dog behavior this week at SPCA camp. She made some observations about Panda. The biggest observation that she made was that he is happy!

Pajama day at SPCA camp! The girls had a blast there together.
A visit to ACC after SPCA camp.

Ella is really excited about the money that she is going to make tonight when mommy says all of the bad words that she is going to say! Ella made about 12 bucks.
Sunny and our friend Bertha who helped me with the surprise.
Taking a selfie to try to stay calm when this is how we were really feeling…
I was a wreck!
Then the surprise happened which you will see in the video clip. After the big surprise, Bertha got Sunny a scoreboard message…
After the scoreboard message, we went over and met up with all of Sunny’s friends. It was a beautiful celebration of love for Sunny. Here is a shot of Sunny with her beautiful expression of being completely blown away…
Then we headed over to hang with friends.

This is what happens when you leave Ella alone with a camera.

The evening was amazing. I hope Sunny was able to feel so much love from so many different people.
Supposedly these are vortexes. It was a small hike from our hotel to the vortexes. I just checked – they can be called vortexes or vortices so pick your favorite word. We hiked up there twice.
Mommy and Ella building mini structures.

Mommy hugging a vortex.
We met a bunch of sweet lizards on our journey.
This child is so happy being in the pool.

Grandma and papa did the vortex hike with us on Saturday.

So we’re back, Ella is in golf camp in the morning, and on Tuesday, we met Colette for ice skating! So much fun.

Ella right after her ears were pierced – hardly any blood in her face.
Feeling much better about a minute later.

After the show!
Post musical flowers and a big lollipop!
Colette came to see the show. This made Ella really happy.
Once the show is over, why not do a little knitting?

A handstand and a headstand.
Looks like Ella has had enough of my picture taking!

Rigth before we left for NY, Ella found these Peeps. We still have lots of them!
Mommy and mama at our first baseball game of the season together!

Together at AJ’s gig.
Ella had this amazing expression on her face while watching AJ perform. What a beautiful night.

One more Aladdin shot – Ella gave a little donation to Broadway Cares.
Sweet shot of cousins Georgia, Isabella, India and Ella at Bronwen’s Bat Mitzvah.
We had a short but great visit with Brickelle, Brooklyn, Akilah and Brooke while we were in NY. Great to see SF friends on the east coast.
Sweet Panda in the grass.

Beautiful Afikomen cover that Ella made.
Ella and Emma put on a creative and wonderful show for us.
Love.
