Jesse and Heather moved to LA last week. Although we miss having them here in SF, we are so happy for them. Heather landed a great job at Disney. Ella is getting the Disney bug early…here is a little video/shout out to the Disney lovers

Sunday, September 9th, 2007Fairyland
Saturday, September 8th, 2007Today, Julie and I took the girls to a place in Oakland called Fairyland. It was a little park built in the 1950’s – before Disney and all the rest of the amusement parks. I don’t think they have given that place a paint job since the 1950’s either! It was sweet, but pretty dirty and run down. I think the girls had fun. There was a tiny ferris wheel there and it was a kids only thing. Stella didn’t want to go so Julie and I put Ella and Juliet on the ride. As the lady was closing the door on their little car, I realized that we put two 1 year olds on a ride together. Oy vey – it was crazy. They were doing really well but then they both stood up and Ella started crying and then Juliet joined her. It was sad and very funny at the same time. I caught most of it on video so I hope you get as much of a laugh as I did while I was editing it. There was also a cheezy carousel thing that the girls went on. They all wanted to ride the one where there was a seat which is not usual for these girls. I think the highlight of the day was the end when there was music coming out of a speaker in the bushes and Ella and Stella started dancing like crazy. I also caught that on video. When we got home, I felt bad for Ella that she had to go on a bad carousel so I brought her to her favorite carousel by our house.

Ella the singer
Friday, September 7th, 2007Today, Ella and I were on our way out to run errands and she was singing her little heart out all the way down the hallway to the elevator. When we got to the elevator, Ella sat down in her favorite little spot and kept on singing. I took out the video camera and captured these four songs. They are all separate, so you don’t have to watch a long medley if you don’t want to. I came in a little late on “A You’re Adorable” but I had to keep it on. The four videos are, “A You’re Adorable”, “ABC”, “Take Me Out To The Ballgame”, and “Take Your Time”. She is so wonderful and full of happiness and full of life and love.
The diner and the hippo park
Thursday, August 30th, 2007Yesterday, we went into NY to have a visit with our friend Tina. We met at a diner and Ella sat in a booster seat for the first time! She did a great job.

Tina gave Ella a cool ball for a present. Ella looked at Tina and said, “Thank you Tina”. We asked her what she was thanking Tina for and she said, “Thank you for the present Tina…thank you for the ball Tina.” Ella is becoming such a big girl. She had a great time with Tina.
After lunch, we all went down to Riverside park to go to the hippo playground. Ella had so much fun with the hippo and the water. She also climbed up a slide all by herself and went down all by herself! Here is a little movie of our time in the park.
Happy Birthday Jesse
Wednesday, August 29th, 2007Sunny and I had a great time away at Foxwoods Casino. It was sweet and peaceful and we had a blast at the craps table. Grandma and papa loved being with Ella. Grandma even asked us if we wanted to stay one more night! Maybe next time.
It’s uncle Jesse’s birthday today and Ella has a shout out for him…
Normyn’s new trick
Saturday, August 25th, 2007Pony ride, train ride and carousel ride
Thursday, August 23rd, 2007What a great Wednesday. The rain finally stopped – still dark and cool outside, but we decided to take Ella to Van Saun Park. Ella had her first pony ride today. She was a trip. She just went right on the pony without any real reaction. Sunny and the guy walked with Ella and she just bounced along. She went around the “track” 4 times! It was a lot of fun to watch and be a part of. After the pony, we went on a little train ride around the zoo. Ella sat with grandma and waved at people, watched the animals go by and enjoyed going through a tunnel. What’s a great park without a carousel? Ella spotted the carousel when we were just finishing the train. We took her over there and she went on it twice. Sunny and I watched Ella and grandma go around and around. It was a fun filled hour. We didn’t even make it into the zoo – Ella was getting a little sleepy. Tonight we went into NY and had dinner with Nicky B and then after dinner, we went back to Nicky’s house so that Ella could play with Mimi again. It was a full beautiful day and night.
Rain rain go away
Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007Oy – the weather has been pretty bad. The rain hasn’t really let up for a few days. Today we decided to try to take Ella to an indoor play area. We thought it would be something like My Gym in SF, but it wasn’t at all. It was a place that would probably be a 10 year old’s dream – video games, bowling, junk food, basketball, a big climbing maze…not too much for a 21 month old, her moms and grandma to do. There was, however a caterpillar train that we spent a lot of time on.
The video on the bottom of this post is a video of the crazy caterpillar train
It was still sprinkling out when we got out of the crazy caterpillar train place, but Sunny and I had plans to go to the Mets game with Nicky B. We dropped grandma and Ella off, drove into NY to pick up Nicky B and the three of us made the adventure into Queens to see the mighty Mets. It felt like an April San Francisco game…cold and wet. We made it a few innings.

That’s not fog in the lights – it’s rain. Notice that there are about 100 people in the seats.

We were just happy to be together! Nice Giants hat Nicky B!
Saturday at the Central Park Zoo
Sunday, August 19th, 2007We have been very busy over the past few days. We had another barbeque, went to papa’s club to go swimming, and saw AJ off. She left to join Michael in Japan this morning. We are watching Normyn for the next 2 weeks so I’ll be updating AJ with Normyn news in this blog.
Yesterday, we had a terrific day. We went to the Central Park Zoo with Ella’s cousins Bronwen and Georgia and their mom and dad David and Jamie. We had so much fun at the zoo, hanging out in Central Park and of course ending the day on the carousel. Here is a movie of our day.
Ella in New York City
Tuesday, August 14th, 2007Yesterday, Sunny and I took Ella into NYC to meet Jamie (AJ) and Jordin. This was Ella’s first time running loose down the city streets and she had a blast! She walked down Broadway, West end and ran around in the 80’s. She went into Harry’s Shoes and tried on some rain boots (way too big) and then we ended up in a little restaurant that has a carpeted store front window with lots of kids toys and books. Ella had so much fun in the window playing with all of us. I made a little video of our time yesterday. The end of the video is a message for the Kim/Arena family…I’m sure they will understand.
