Fun in the garden. Getting ready for Hawaii.

Tuesday, June 21st, 2011

Today we did some last minute errands and then had some fun in the hot SF sun.  We played catch with water balloons and squirted Ella with a spray bottle.  I can’t wait to have so much more fun in Hawaii.  We leave in the morning and then Towby’s babysitters and their dogs move in here.  Everyone will be taken care of.  Here are some beautiful shots from today.118.jpg This one was actually from yesterday…running errands in the neighborhood.29.jpg38.jpg411.jpg57.jpg68.jpg710.jpgPure happiness.

Happy Father’s Day Dad/Papa

Sunday, June 19th, 2011

Hi dad.  Hope you have a beautiful father’s day.  Thanks for being my dad.  You are the best.  I love you very much.  We have been pretty busy these past few days.  On Thursday night, we went over to our friend’s house to do music and watch the Giants game.  We ended up only watching the game which was not a fun one but we had a great time hanging with our friends.  Here is a picture from the other night when we celebrated Sunny’s end of the week birthday.410.jpg That’s Emilie, Gracie, Tess, Sunny and Ella.  Sweet birthday cupcakecelebration.117.jpg28.jpg Ella has been jumping her little heart out these days.37.jpg Ella in her new sunglasses for Hawaii.67.jpg Back together with Juliet and Stella.  They were so sweet sitting there reading.79.jpgHappily back together with Stella and Juliet.86.jpg We hung out with Eli and family tonight.  We all had a great time.  I think Eli and Ella especially did. First day of summer break

Thursday, June 16th, 2011

Today was a sweet day.  Ella woke up earlier than she does for school (of course) and came into bed and watched some TV.  We did some stuff around the house and then went to Sports Basement to get some stuff for Hawaii.  After that, mommy came home for lunch and I went to an appointment.  When I got back, I took Ella to Mizu to get a manicure.  After the manicure, Ella had a piano lesson.  She’s doing really well…we let her lessons slide for a few weeks.  Tonight, we went to dinner with Hannah, Max and Ilene.  We all had a lot of fun.  So far, summer break is really fun.  Today, a few people sent me pics of Ella and Cassi from graduation.  I think that they are beautiful.  Check them out.  The video at the end is a little bit of Ella’s piano lesson.116.jpg27.jpg36.jpg47.jpg56.jpg65.jpg76.jpg76.jpg66.jpg77.jpg77.jpg85.jpg95.jpg

Ella’s last day as a Leaping Lizard

Wednesday, June 15th, 2011

Today was a big day for Ella.  It was her last day as a Leaping Lizard.  Ella is now officially a kindergarten student.  The Leaping Lizards escorted their 8th grade buddies to the graduation stage. Ella looked really happy, proud, nervous excited – you name it, she looked it.  Ms. Alicia did Ella’s hair one last time today and it looked beautiful.  It’s been an amazing 3 years.  Thank you for taking such amazing care of our Ella, Ms. Alicia!  The little video at the end is of Ella and some of the other Leaping Lizards singing goodbye to their buddies.  I think Ella was so overwhelmed that she forgot to sing!115.jpg Ella and Ann’s last day of school together…no stuffed animals in kindergarten.26.jpg Ella and Brickelle on their last day of school.  They are now a kindergartener and a first grader.35.jpg46.jpg Ella walking her buddy Cassi to the stage…look at that smile!55.jpg Beautiful Ella watching the ceremony.

Happy Birthday Mommy!

Tuesday, June 14th, 2011

Today was mommy’s birthday.  Unfortunately, she had to spend 3 hours in the Apple Store dealing with iPad, iPhone, MacBook stuff, but we had a beautiful dinner tonight at Benihana with Phyllis, Michael, Hannah and Naomi.  WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH mommy/Sunny.  You are the BESTEST.114.jpg25.jpg Sunny and her girls!  Love you!34.jpg Here are the Benihana ladies singing happy birthday to mommy.45.jpg Ella helping mommy blow out her birthday candle.

Last day of t-ball

Monday, June 13th, 2011

Ella had her last t ball game and then we had an all t-ball picnic and trophy ceremony.  The kids who showed up had a blast.  It was a great season.  Ella is very proud of her very first trophy.  Here are some pics from today.110.jpg24.jpg Ella really wanted to play catcher and she did a great job in the first inning!33.jpg Ella had quite a swing today.44.jpg54.jpg Ella was having a great time with her buddy Luke in the outfield.64.jpg Playing around with Rosie.75.jpg84.jpg Team pictures.94.jpg Beautiful Ella and her baseball trophy.

Last Leaping Lizard assembly and a ballgame with grandma and papa

Sunday, June 12th, 2011

School is almost out for the summer and that means something monumental for Ella.  Tuesday will be Ella’s last day as a preschooler.  It is very exciting and very emotional for us.  Friday was the Leaping Lizard’s last assembly.  It’s amazing how far Ella has come.  Ella spent the first 4 months at school crying at assembly including crying through the first Leaping Lizard assembly. Watch the video below and see how confident Ella is now.  Ms. Alicia is the greatest!  We feel so lucky that she was/is such an important part of Ella’s life.  Grandma and papa were supposed to fly in on Thursday night at around 9:00 but their flight was delayed by 8 hours!  They finally made it here at 4:00 am.  Ella finally fell asleep on Thursday night but woke up super early to go snuggle with grandma and papa.  We all love having you guys here.  We picked up Ella early from school on Friday and at Ella’s request, went to Nordstrom for lunch.  After lunch, we all relaxed so that we would have enough energy for the ballgame at night.  The 5 of us went to the game and had a great time.  The Giants won a very tight game in the 9th inning and then watched a beautiful fireworks show.  We got home at around 11:30 which was way too late for all of us but the night was so worth it!  Today, papa had to go to meetings, mommy did her volunteering to collect baseball gloves for the Junior Giants, and grandma, Ella and I hung around the house.  Ella has a little cold and we want her to get some good rest.  We went out for lunch with some cousins who were in town and Abigail joined us.  It was a really nice lunch.  Ella hung out and watched movies with grandma and papa for the rest of the afternoon.  Tonight, grandma and papa went out to a dinner with some doctors and the 3 of us hung out at home and relaxed.  We all need rest this weekend.  Grandma and papa’s trip was super short but it was so wonderful to see them.  We love you guys!19.jpg Ella and Ms. Alicia on Friday before the assembly.  We love you Ms. Alicia!23.jpg Hi Ella!32.jpg The assembly is about to start.43.jpg Ella and most of the LEaping Lizards.53.jpg Drumroll please…63.jpg Our beautiful happy girl.73.jpg After our lunch at Nordstrom.83.jpg Walking down the famous hallway with papa.92.jpg Heading into the game.102.jpg Pure happiness and love all the way around.10a.jpg All bundeled and ready to win a ballgame!11a.jpg 7th inning stretch.  Take me out to the ballgame.113.jpg Beautiful women.122.jpg A very happy Ella chillin on mommy watching the fireworks. Now for the assembly video.

A pretty funny story

Tuesday, June 7th, 2011

Tonight, we were finishing up dinner and Ella went over to sit on Sunny’s lap.  While on Sunny’s lap, Ella noticed that Sunny put eyelashes on a drawing that Ella did of a manatee.   Ella was not very happy about it at all.  “Why did you do that mommy?  You drew on my picture without asking!”  “I’m really sorry Ella.   I thought the eyelashes looked nice on your manatee” responded mommy.  Ella started breathing heavy and getting all bent out of shape.  She crossed out her manatee with eyelashes, turned the page in her notebook and began to draw another manatee.  She was pissed.  Then she started writing something with a lot of emotion.  She was sounding things out like crazy.  Here it is…18.jpg Here is the translation.  The first part is the part on the right…”Ella – Bad mommy.  Can you say sorry two times?”  She then held it up to mommy and she said, “OK Ella – I already said I was sorry but I will say it again.  I’m sorry, I apologize, I’m sorry.”  Then Ella wrote on the other side…”Good.  I accept your apology.  Thank you.  You’re welcome.”

Ella’s ballet recital

Monday, June 6th, 2011

We had a very full long great day today.  This morning, we met Debby, Toby and Rachel for brunch.  We had a great time, but Ella had one thing on her mind…her ballet recital.  Every once in a while, she would look at us and ask, “Are we going to be late?”  We reassured her that we had about 4 hours to get to the recital, but she was so excited!  We got to the Disney Family Museum where the recital was, about 45 minutes early.  Ella was so happy to be there.  Helen, Stella and Juliet joined us there to watch Ella.  Ella’s regular ballet teacher was out of town and another teacher was leading the kids in their dance.  They didn’t have a dress rehearsal and only rehearsed their dance at the ballet studio.  You’ll notice on the video that the kids basically did the majority of their dance to a wall rather than to the audience.  When they rehearsed at the studio, the teacher had them do this part to a wall that she called the audience.  Guess the kids took her literally.  You’ll also see Ella in the video trying to help the other kids figure out what to do…she loves pointing that finger!  After the recital, we went over to a Giants Community Fund event where Ella got a World Series poster signed by Brian “Fear the Beard” Wilson, our closing pitcher.17.jpg Our little ballerina outside of the museum.22.jpg One last pose before the tiara goes on.31.jpg42.jpg Mommy the expert tiara securer!52.jpg The costume is complete!62.jpg Getting a feel for the stage.72.jpg82.jpg Ella, your moms love you so much!91.jpg Practicing her swan.101.jpg112.jpg Ella with two of her buddies from ballet class.121.jpg Watching a professional dancer do a dance from Swan Lake before they went on stage.131.jpg141.jpg151.jpg Shots taken during Ella’s performance.161.jpg Brian Wilson signing Ella’s poster.

Ella got her yellow belt on Saturday!

Monday, June 6th, 2011

Ella tested for her 3rd belt today and did a great job,  Here are a few pictures from today.  I actually couldn’t finish the blog last night so here it is…another entry to follow about Ella’s ballet recital.11.jpg Ella on  her way to the gym.21.jpg Nice Axe kick!41.jpg Meditating at the end of class.51.jpg61.jpg71.jpg81.jpgElla getting her yellow belt and one of her classmates helping her put it on..9.jpg The class with their new belts!10.jpg111.jpg12.jpg13.jpg14.jpg15.jpg Earlier in the day, mommy worked really hard with Ella to teach her how to tie her belt in the special way that they need to tie it.  Ella did a great job learning from mommy and mommy did a great job teaching Ella.  Ella did it perfectly.  Then she said to me, “Mama, if mommy isn’t home on a Saturday when I have TaeKwonDo, you don’t need to tie my belt, I can do it all by myself.”16.jpg Ella and her instructor Steven.
